The cromlech near the village of Staro Jelezare, Plovdiv, is more than 2 600 years old. Nowadays, you can see a small part of the twenty-four staircases of the cromlech erect. The place was discovered in 2004 by the late Bulgarian archaeologist Georgi Kitov. Treasure hunters who have searched for treasures, as well as time, have dropped part of the raised stone pieces up to 2 meters high.
To discover the cromlech of Cholakova Mogila near Staro Jelezare, you have to take the road to Plovdiv and turn off after the end of the village along the second dirt road to the left. The first one actually leads to the illegal landfill.
